The Inner Sherpa

Poem

HOW DO YOU MANAGE YOUR BELIEFS?

HOW DO YOU MANAGE YOUR BELIEFS?

Do you store them in your mind’s vault and throw its key into the sea

After memorizing their content and insuring them heavily?

Do you hang on to them for dear life, so convinced that you are right?

Is it so wrong to change one’s mind and to upgrade stale old dogmas

With newer versions of higher truths as they become available

As you would trade an older car which has poor gas mileage

With a more recent model, more appropriate for your age?

Are your beliefs stagnating in the dark pool of your mind,

Surrounded by sandbags that you believe to be your friends

While they effectively prevent the refreshing river of Truth

From infiltrating their domain and renewing their state of youth?

Expose your beliefs to fresh air, and they will get wings of their own,

Transcending your whole being and lifting you, both heart and soul,

To virgin territories of much higher understanding.

.

The long trail to Paradise cannot be walked with a backpack

Whose content is limited to lightweight spiritual snacks…

The Father provides manna from above, day after day,

Not to be saved in bank vaults as it would just waste away.

Truth stands on its own merit; it does its work “pro bono” …

If your beliefs need a lawyer, beware!

Highly-paid narcissistic devil’s advocates

Pull the wool over your eyes in defense of brazen lies

Meant to keep you in the dark… or so they wish.
