ABOUT YOUR PORTFOLIO

“The weak indulge in resolutions, but the strong act.” [UB 556:13]

Thought Adjuster: “Unfulfilled resolutions are recycled in a growing pile of regrets. On the other hand, those who diligently act upon their resolutions are profoundly rewarded when they get to check them off their ‘to-do’ list and to archive them in their expanding ‘done’ list—the portfolio of their achievements.

“It is obvious that the 'doers' are those who progress and experience much satisfaction, while the procrastinators stand stock-still. As well, the way they express themselves greatly differs, grammatically-speaking. The ‘weak’ favor the conditional tense—present or past—and their “I should do this” statements soon morph into “I should have done that”. The only mastery they acquire is in the use of the conditional tense.

“The other group gets straight to the point: Their “I will do…” becomes “I have done” and, at the same time, they accumulate precious experiential knowledge that can only be acquired by ‘hands-on’ homework.

“Take the time to ponder how your life has been meandering around some of the objectives you have set for yourself, knowing that they would draw the best out of you. Have you been in a mode of avoidance, adding many ‘buts’ to your sentences? Or have you been living in a super-achieving mode, tackling one goal after the next, thus experiencing the wonderful personal rewards of a job well done?

“It is never too late to change your modus operandi. It is like switching the gear of your vehicle from neutral to first gear and, as you acquire momentum, you keep accelerating, coveringnew territories, as your life is passion-driven. Your vision is directed forward, looking for more growth opportunities. This is how inner fortitude is developed, one fulfilled resolution at a time.”
