YOUR NATURAL HABITAT OF LOVE AND GRATITUDE

The event that Americans commonly call the "First Thanksgiving" was celebrated by the Pilgrims after their first harvest in the New World in October 1621.

Thought Adjuster: “Today is the annual celebration of Thanksgiving in the United States. For many, it has become a culinary feast enjoyed with family and friends. On this joyous occasion, through the national focus on the expression of gratitude, a spiritual portal opens that facilitates many heart-openings. Many ponder the many blessings that they sadly overlook on their many off-days of chronic complaining.

“Let us look at it one step further. Thanksgiving is a heartfelt expression of gratitude to the Giver—the “Blessings Provider.” To Jesus, each day was a day of Thanksgiving. At any opportunity, He gave thanks to the Divine Philanthropist, whose cosmic agenda forever is Love-in-Action, with all its ripple-effects in YOUR life.

“True love is a reciprocated feeling. So is heartfelt gratitude. The expression of gratitude by the ‘blessed one’ finds an echo in the Heart of the Giver Himself. How often is He acknowledged by His creatures in their daily comings and goings? Which emotion is more prevalent then? How often do they voice their discontent for things that are seemingly going against the grain of their wishful thinking? Aren’t the ingrate feelings of blame and dissatisfaction quite often the daily fare?

“Can one annual day of gratitude make up for all these missed opportunities for heart-opening? Wouldn’t Thanksgiving Day be the perfect day to jumpstart a year of appreciation? Dear ones, go within and spend time acknowledging the uncountable blessings you receive daily. You will quickly experience a significant positive shift in the way you feel about your life. Why not then start each day with such a mind- and heart-set? You will live with augmented mindfulness, acknowledging the many kudos of your life experience as they come up—not just in hindsight.

“It may at first feel like homework. However, soon enough, you will find yourself in a constant state of irrepressible gratitude, having come to personally grasp that depression is powerless when faced head-on with gratitude. As you Divine Indweller, I respond in kind to all the positive feelings you entertain. They are My natural habitat—and yours by divine association.”
