VICTIM OR VICTOR?
Thought Adjuster: “Dear child, let us ponder today some more the nefarious effects that grudges, hate, and resentment have on human health. It seems that so many on this challenging planet are harboring at some level of their being these virulent emotions. The only way to subjugate them is to become aware of their disgraceful presence in your being.
“Life will indubitably present you with many hurtful situations of injustice, deprivation of some personal liberties by those who violate the free will of their pairs, disrespect, and abuse at various levels—physical, emotional, and spiritual. These situations may trigger emotional chaos that may adversely affect their well-being and their recovery from these personal “blows.” Such is the natural outworking of the law of cause and effect.
“Yet, you do have options as to the way you respond to these critical times of inner challenges. As long as creatures are unable to recognize the harmful side effects of harboring anger, resentment, and their likes, they will be at high risk of being “infected” by these malignant viruses of low vibrations. If they do not live with awareness, they will fail to identify the warning signals.
“However, those who live with awareness will quickly detect the onset of inner unbalance and will be able to take immediate measures to prevent an emotional snowball effect that would handicap and make them sink even deeper in the victim mentality.
“Your organism has been equipped with “warning bells” at all its levels. A scratchy throat or a slight headache could be the first signs of an impending cold. It is then best to take preventive measures by ingesting the right food or supplements that will boost your immunity and repel the threatening invaders. Yet, if preventive measures fail to be taken, a minor cold may well turn into a more invasive and life threatening ailment such as bronchitis or pneumonia.
“The same applies on an emotional level. It cannot be avoided that life will place you in situations where you will be under severe emotional attack. Such situations may open access to your being to an emotional Trojan horse containing many malevolent strains. These could become great destabilizing factors in your life—to the point where they could fully incapacitate you due to their detrimental influence.
“What can you do to ward off such invaders? Again, living with self-awareness is the only remedy. Recognize that you have a say in the way you respond. This is how Jesus dealt with the “hard knocks” of His life. First of all, He never took them personally. He knew that they had to do with the ignorance and immaturity of His detractors and abusers. He was highly self-aware and also knew that He was a Temple of God—that a Divine Fragment resided within Him. He never allowed His Temple to be violated and debased by unloving emotions. He remained anchored in Love and could only respond with Love and the Forgiveness and Mercy that it entails.
“Whenever you are facing similar challenges, do not let them slam your heart shut after allowing hate and resentment to move in as they will breed within you and change your emotional chemistry and your outlook on life. Do you want to look at life through such dark goggles or would you rather look at the sunny side of things and recognize the opportunities to expand your ability to love and forgive those who trespass against you? “What does not kill you makes you stronger.” Victim or victor? The choice is all yours.”
