THE BOOSTER SHOTS OF FAITH
Fearcan impair formation of long-term memories and cause damage to certain parts of the brain, such as the hippocampus. Youramygdala triggers emotional responses and promptsyourhypothalamus to turn upyouradrenal glands and rush blood toyourmuscles to get you away from the danger.
Thought Adjuster: “Let us talk about the contrast between fear and faith. Indeed, both these emotional driving forces are worlds apart. Fear has very deep roots and side effects in the physical aspect of your being. As well, it is handed down generationally through your cellular memory. It is ‘visceral’ and strongly affects your physical systems.
Fear exerts a powerful influence in your decision making—or the lack thereof. It is debilitating to many, as it may cause the brain to freeze and momentarily lose its ability to think rationality. This is what you describe as feeling like a deer caught in headlights. Indeed, in many cases, fear is irrational and its triggers are hard to understand, as they may be related to past event whose memories have been buried. Frequently, fear leads to procrastination and avoidance.
On the other hand, faith is akin to courage. It is the calming voice in your head that tells you to breathe, calling you back to your senses and asking you to face your fears, as it is the only way to move through them. By their cowardly nature, fears are afraid of courage.
Your ability to feel fear was meant to act as an inner alarm to assist you in the preservation of your life in a world fraught with dangers. Fears are the alarm system connected to the control center of your brain so that it can take immediate protective actions.
Faith is the emotion that enables you to step out of the fearful mode by overriding it and taking constructive actions. Fear is a primal reaction and faith is a positive response to fear—even though it may appear unreal to those who have not experienced its transformative power.
My Inner Voice leads you in faith. It is quiet and comforting. It whispers in your heart that you are not alone and that, with My Help, you are invincible. Even though your fears clamor loudly, whenever you step in faith and courage, they immediately retreat, as you have called their bluff and they can no longer maintain their poker faces.
Dear ones, whenever you are faced with fearful circumstances, remember that I am your lifeline and your most powerful ally. “Who has the faith of a mustard seed can move mountains.” Indeed, booster shots of faith are powerful deterrents against the seasonal virus of fear.”
