THE CORRELATION BETWEEN PAIN AND DYSFUNCTION
Thought Adjuster: “When someone steps on your toes, you scream in physical agony. When someone tramples your feelings, you do the same emotionally. In both cases, you want to disengage the aching part of your being from the root cause of its affliction.
“To understand human dysfunction, you need to understand pain—the pain inflicted upon you and the pain you inflict upon others—knowingly or unknowingly.
“It is said that “those who have been hurt, hurt others.” Indeed, emotional wounds, if not treated at an early stage, can bleed into many lives—starting with yours. Mistreatment goes against the grain of life-sustaining core values, as it is devoid of empathy, compassion, and love for humanity.
“Use these core values as reference points to make sense of the pain inflicted upon you by the bullies of your life due to their lack of self-awareness, self-understanding, self-love, and self-mastery. It is their lack of self-confidence that leads them to belittle others and treat them with utter contempt in a misguided attempt to establish their superiority over them. Unbeknownst to them, they are crying out for Love.
“Take the time to examine the dysfunctional elements of your behavior from the perspective of pain. Rather than coping with your pain by dulling it, why not put it under a spiritual microscope to pinpoint its symptoms and uncover its deep-seated emotional catalysts.
“I will guide you in your quest for understanding, as I am the constant witness of your eventful life. I never desert you on the battlefield and am qualified from On High to be your Emergency Responder, as well as your Family Physician.
“By healing your emotional pain, you will transform your life—and the lifeof your loved ones. You will learn to pull the emergency brake of your misguided impulses and address your chronic pain differently. It is a complex process but well worth tackling on. Rather than applying analgesic band-aids to your still suppurating wounds, it is far better to come up with a potent emotional antibiotic to heal them once for all, restoring you to a state of wholeness, as well as upgrading the way your function in the world. It all boils down to developing Empathy, Compassion, and Love for yourself and humanity. Learn to speak your Truth with kindness, as Truth is a double-edged sword that can inflict great damage if wielded as a weapon of emotional destruction rather than an educational tool.”
