I SHALL STAND IN LINE AS LONG AS IT TAKES
I SHALL STAND IN LINE AS LONG AS IT TAKES
All I want is to forever bask in Your addictive presence,
As Your enigmatic absence is hard to bear.
Will the longings of my heart ever be satisfied?
I am chanting Your Name, bugging the bejesus out of You,
In the hope You will lend a merciful ear to my crummy rendition
Pretending it to be as ecstatic as heavenly philharmonics.
A lost battle it would be without Your leniency
And my relentless tugging at Your heartstring.
Should my wretched solo miss the mark of Your heart,
I pray that with each purposeful breath I take,
I get a whiff of Your sublime fragrance
Blessing and baffling my awakening senses.
How shall I know I got Your undivided attention?
Will You speak to me in the universal sign language of Love?
Will Your mesmerizing plasma light outline itself
Against the dark background of my blurry mental screen?
Will I find You patiently waiting with outstretched arms
Into which I shall fit snuggly,
Dropping on the spot all excruciating doubts and anxieties?
I was told about the unspeakable wonders instigated by Your grace.
Silent and hopeful, I wait, my patience once again tested.
Know that I shall stand in line as long as it takes.
