FORGIVENESS IS A CHOICE
Christ Michael: “Dear child, you have been pondering what it means to completely forgive someone and you have also been asking about how to embody such forgiveness. As I lived my human life on this planet, I was faced with many situations where I had to wholeheartedly forgive those who trespassed against our Heavenly Father by trespassing against Me.
“One of the clues revealed by my countenance is that I did not, would not, and could not take the offenses personally as I well knew that the offenders were acting out of fear, and/or ignorance. Fear is a powerful disabling emotion that prevents the ones subjected to it from using their complete intellectual capacities. Fear causes a brain freeze and also shuts the heart as a protective mechanism.
“In order to be able to forgive, it is necessary that you by-pass the range of lower emotions that are trying to sweep over you. I always functioned from the position of interceding to the Father for those who were misbehaving as they did not know what they were doing. How natural is it for parents to forgive the mischief of their little ones? They definitely don’t take them personally. Rather, they understand that they are being part of the child’s learning curve and could even feel some degree of gratitude that life is teaching the child – through trials and errors as well as through successes.
“Whenever you feel offended, become aware right then that you have multiple choices as how to respond to this situation. Will you allow it to unsettle you? Or will you rise above it right away?
“As a mortal of the realm, I always strove to rise above the situation so as not to give it any hold over my emotional well-being. I did have the choice to let it upset me and to allow resentment, bitterness, and their siblings to move into my being. Yet, I was aware at all times that I was a Temple of the Holy One and that such emotions would have defiled that Temple. I therefore consciously chose not to leave that place of connection with the Father. I prevented the apparent gravity pull of the lower emotions to suck me in like quick sands. Instead, I turned my heart toward the vast array of positive emotions I could tap into.
“Forgiveness also entailed not to dwell on the negatives of a given situation, but rather to express gratitude for the silver lining that is also contained in it. How can you master forgiveness if there is nothing to forgive? Learn to look at these situations as opportunities to flex your forgiveness muscle. Forgiveness will also bring you peace of mind and peace of heart as it will take you out of the zone of inner turmoil which can very easily drain your being of energies that could otherwise be put to greater service. Forgive, love, unite and stay united within yourself!”
