ADVERSITY IS ONLY ADVERSE IF YOU LET IT WORK AGAINST YOU
Thought Adjuster: “Dear child, you were reading in The Urantia Book this morning about the peace which passes all understanding, that cosmic poise which betokens the absence of all doubt and turmoil. [UB 1101-01].
“This is the peace Christ Michael leaves with each one of you if you are open to receive it. What does it mean? No matter what happens in your life and on your planet, by learning to look at things from a much higher perspective, you come to realize the “this too shall pass” element of the evolution taking place on your planet and each individual life.
“There may be periods loaded with utmost challenges; by knowing that there is ALWAYS a way back to the Father, it gives you the courage and the fortitude to endure and persevere in spite of perceived adversity. Adversity is only adverse if it works against you.
“Many blessings are contained in life challenges which demonstrate that they are not the enemies you perceive them to be. They are catalysts for growth and soul awakening. Whenever you feel challenged, it points to an area within yourself in need of growth and expansion.
“An athlete training for the Olympic Games may feel overwhelmed at first about how high the bar has been set. The athlete will enroll the services and expertise of a qualified coach, and together, little by little, by repetitive drills and endurance programs, they will upgrade the performance of the athlete so that he can conquer his own limitations.
“The peace that passes all understanding is the peace which comes from knowing that, no matter how desperate things may appear to be at a given moment, the Father is in control and is providing you with a higher education so as to bring out your dormant qualities. Challenges are activators and catalysts. For those unwilling to step out of their comfort zone, challenges are the forces which compel them to do so. If you house catches on fire, you won’t stay lying on your couch in front of your TV set. Suddenly the pass-time of watching television loses its attraction and the fire drives you out of your home, where you may discover unexplored surroundings.
“Trust in the Father’s guidance and divine orchestration. Invoke the peace that passes all understanding whenever you feel destabilized by what life seemingly throws at you. The Father is telling you that you can do it and His promise is that of survival and soul expansion.”
