LIVE WHAT YOU PREACH

"You may preach a religion about Jesus, but, perforce, you must live the religion of Jesus.” [UB2091:10]

Dear child, let us elaborate on the above quote from The Urantia Book. Jesus was foremost an unpretentious Teacher. He only taught what He had mastered: Love - Love thy Father, Love thy brethren, Love thyself.

“He was a preacher in the sense that He used words in order to explain these concepts to His followers. He appealed to their intellectual understanding and to their hearts. Sometimes, things need to be spelled out in order to take a life of their own. Jesus activated higher thought forms and set them free by speaking them so that they could be heard by those having ears to hear. The best channel for spreading truth is word of mouth.

“Yet, Jesus was only articulating His own inner processes as His intent was to set the example of a God centered life. Jesus taught what he preached. He never allowed Himself to be placed on a pedestal and to be venerated. The cross was the only pedestal He ever climbed on – a pedestal of utmost humility and unconditional love.

“Do not settle for being a preacher as so many words are like leaves blown by the wind. Acts speak much louder than words and acts are also grounding the words so that they can find their full manifestation in your physical reality. Jesus only taught what he knew to be true and He modeled how to embody such truth thus becoming a gullible and trustworthy teacher. You have to become love if your teach about love. You have to be forgiveness if you promote that value. You have to stay in your integrity if you want to be taken seriously and be respected. Jesus did all of the above and more. His character became a tribute to the Father as He became the visible manifestation of Truth, Beauty and Goodness-i.e. love in action.

“Love in action is the ultimate destination. It is the cosmic manifestation of the initial Divine intention. Love in action is the transformative spiritual influence which sets everything in alignment with the Divine Vision. Become such followers of Jesus that you can represent these mighty values and show to others that the same fruits of Spirit will grow within you if you apply Jesus’ teachings to your own life. This will be the foundation of yet another metamorphosis of your being—the caterpillar shifting into the beautiful and liberated butterfly. Your influence as a winged being will be so much broader than it previously was as a crawler.”
