ABOUT ACTIONABLE WORSHIP
“But first of all I am going to practice worshiping God by leaning how to do the will of God on earth; that is, I am going to do my best to treat each of my fellow mortals just as I think God would like to have him treated.” [UB 131:10:5]
Thought Adjuster: “The above statement presents the Act of Worship under a new light, clearly defining what it should amount to. The words ‘worship’ and ‘cult’ are synonyms. Yet, a cult is often described as a system of religious veneration and devotion directed toward a particular figure or object.
Many cults have been ‘institutionalized’ and are no longer in the ‘private sector.’ What I mean by that is that they have been outfitted with whistles and bells, incenses and holy waters, the superstitious adherence to rituals and the rambling of sacred formulas intent at keeping their devotees on God’s good side—as if He had a bad one.
All these complex rituals fall short of being the personal ACTS of WILL that directly connect your will with the Divine Will by DOING GOOD UNTO OTHERS—the saving grace of the practical side of Jesus’s message to humanity.
Certainly, His Words brought the Light of Truth to a needy world. But, as you well know, words do not suffice to bring about lasting changes. ACTING upon them is what manifests a different reality. Jesus always followed suit with His actions. He took to heart the Divine impulses and it is how He grew in His Godlikeness. There are no shortcuts to that process.
If you truly worship God and wish to honor Jesus’ memory, the only way to do so is to act in godly ways—to wish and do good unto others, even under the direst of circumstances. Take time to go within your heart and examine how your actions can make God proud. Isn’t it the best way to return His abundant favors?”
