TO ALL THE 'YOUR HONOR' OUT THERE

“Service—purposeful service, not slavery—is productive of the highest satisfaction and is expressive of the divinest dignity.” [UB 36:04]

“In your courts of law, you deferentially address your judges as “Your Honor.” As well, politicians are frequently referred to as ‘The Honorable so and so.” What does that tell you? Are they that special? If so, what is so special about them?

“They are indeed special if they abide by the sanctity of their appointment, honoring the public trust by rendering just decisions that support the welfare of those they are representing—decisions motivated by the core values of Empathy, Compassion, and Love for Humanity. You are all special that way.

“Bottom line, the question to ask yourself is “Do I ‘honorably’ or ‘dishonorably’ discharge my God-given duties as…? Do I deserve the respect of my peers by the way I live my life?

“All of this has a lot to do with all-around respect—respect of others as well as self-respect—and yes, DIGNITY. It does not matter which position you hold in life. As long as you diligently fulfill it in a humble attitude of service, you are ‘honorable’ and when the time comes for you to transition to higher playing fields, be assured that you will receive a ‘very honorable discharge’ and be relocated where you rightfully belong in your next way station. You may even get a well-deserved Medal of Honor, unanimously awarded by your respectful and very respectable new entourage.”
